Mrs. Laurene Bean Loflin, age 87 of Loftin Road, Denton, NC died Friday, June 7 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm SUNDAY, June 9 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Davis and Rev. Sandy Young. The family will see friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Loflin was born August 15, 1925 in Davidson County to Walter Dewey Bean and Edna Davis Bean. She was a retired dietician, having worked with the Davidson County Schools and the Salvation Army at Camp Walter Johnson. She was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church and was married to Calvin Loflin who died in 1974. She is survived by a son, Clayton Loflin and wife Melanie; daughters Brenda Blake and husband Roger and Annette Loflin all of Denton; a sister Charlotte Hunt of Denton and 2 grandchildren, Jenny Loflin and Will Loflin.
