Laura Maie Kern Thomas, 86, of Fox Forrest Lane, Hoffman died Tues. March 4, 2008 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Southern Pines with Rev. Don Burns officiating. Mrs. Thomas was born March 16, 1921 in Montgomery County to Cornelius Vanderbilt Kern and Laura Loutisha Needham Kern. She was a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Kern and sisters Virginia Boyd, and Jewel Kearnes Survivors include, Husband, John A. Thomas, Jr. of the home, daughters, Deborah Kern Thomas of Rockingham and Betsy Christine Galliher of Cary, sisters Louvenia Jordan of Georgia, Alice Rebecca Lynch of Lake in the Hills, IL, Willow Christine Ganiko of Pensacola, FL, and Betsy Neal Revis of Asheboro and 5 grandchildren The family will see friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and other times at the residence on Fox Forrest Lane in Hoffman.
