Larry Eugene Hogan, 68, of Checkmark Rd, Denton, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at his residence. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at Grubbs Grove Church of God, with Rev. Johnny Albertson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hogan was born in Randolph County on October 25, 1942, the son of Reece and Sarah “Polly” Stafford Hogan. He was a logger. Mr. Hogan was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harold Hogan, a son, Randy Cross and a daughter, Wanda Tysinger. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Tucker Hogan of the home, 2 sons Tony Eugene Hogan and Dennis Mitchell Hogan, both of Asheboro; 2 daughters, Kathy Cross Oehrlein and husband Len of Farmer and Tammy Cross Turner and husband Wiley of Denton; 3 brothers, David Hogan and wife Olga of Fayetteville, Tommy Hogan and wife Angie of Asheboro and Danny Hogan and wife Beverly of Denton; 2 sisters, Carolyn Brown and husband Wylie of Denton and Kathy Wilson of Asheboro; Sister-in-law, Betty Hogan of Asheboro; 7 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton, and other times at the residence.
