Kenneth Augustus "K.A." McLeod, Jr., 90, of N. Bruton St., Candor, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at his residence. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Candor Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dena White officiating. Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Born on April 26, 1920 in Montgomery County, he was the son of Kenneth Alexander and Mary Patterson McLeod. He was a member of Candor Presbyterian Church and a member of Biscoe Masonic Lodge #437. He was owner/operator of McLeod Farm Chemicals in Candor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bone McLeod in 1995. He is survived by his special friend, Eleanor Chappell of Candor, 2 daughters, Sharon McLeod and life partner Dea Jones of Edgewood, KY and Kay Wheeler and good friend Dianne Jackson of Charlotte; 3 sons, Kenneth McLeod and wife Barbara of Candor, Jim McLeod and wife Jackie of Candor and Randall Wheeler and wife Susan of Mt. Airy; 3 grandchildren, Charles McLeod of Chapel Hill and Megan and Michael Wheeler of Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
