Kay Gadwah Easter

Kay Gadwah Easter, 74, of Denton, NC, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Atrium Health Lexington Medical Center. Born on May 6, 1951, in Barre, Vermont, Kay was known for her warm spirit and dedication to her family, friends, and community.

Kay was a beloved member of Denton Wesleyan Church, where she worked diligently in the church daycare, touching the lives of many young children. Her passion for education led her to go back to school to become an Early Childhood Education Teacher, reflecting her commitment to nurturing and guiding the next generation.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Kay had a vibrant personal life filled with interests that reflected her nurturing nature. She loved gardening, where she found joy in watching things grow and beautifying her surroundings. Cooking was another of her passions, as she often delighted her family and friends with delicious meals from her kitchen. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Kay is survived by her devoted sons Cliff "Sonny" Easter and wife Michele and Eric Easter and wife Sheena, her brothers Dean Gadwah and Dennis Gadwah, and her sisters Glenda Ridings and Jil Donovan. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Mackenzie Easter, Caitlyn Bartelsmeyer, Reagan Easter, Morgan Easter, and Nolan Easter, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Kay is preceded in death by her father Glenn Willard Gadwah, mother Jean Elizabeth Smith Gadwah Simms, her husband Clifford "Cliff" Easter, and sister Mary Gadwah Khen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Denton Wesleyan Church on December 6, 2025, beginning at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Charlie Collins officiating. The church, located at 16345 North Carolina 109, Denton, NC 27239, will be a place for family and friends to gather in memory of Kay, reflecting on her life and the profound impact she made on all who had the honor to know her.

Kay Easter will be remembered not only for her contributions to her community but also for the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
