Karl Wayne Mullinix

Karl Wayne Mullinix I, 74, of S. Main St., Mt. Gilead, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.  Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Born in Stanly County on June 9, 1947, he was the son of Chloe Butler and Irene Allen Mullinix.  He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Navy.  He was a member of Uwharrie UMC, a musician, a truck driver and a chef.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Mullinix and a sister, Golda Mabry.

Mr. Mullinix is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dotty” Smith Mullinix of the home; daughter, Chloe Mullinix Spencer (Scott) of Wilmington; son, Karl Wayne Mullinix II (Krista) of Seven Lakes; 5 grandchildren, Scotty Spencer, Michael Spencer, Johnathan Mullinix, Matthew Mullinix, and Hailey Mullinix; 3 great-grandchildren, Elijah Spencer, Elias Mullinix, and Zahara Mullinix.
