J.W Cranford

Mr. J. W. Cranford, 85, of NC Hwy # 8 South, Denton, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 31 at Allegheny United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Kelly Creekmur. The family will see friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mr. Cranford was born November 22, 1925 in Davidson County, the son of John and Della Surratt Cranford. He was a retired machinist with Denton Lumber Company of Denton. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Allred Cranford on April 8, 2011. He is survived by a brother, Walter Cranford of Denton; 2 sisters, Mary Dinkins of Richmond, Virginia and Alice Bolton of Misenheimer. A sister-in-law, Betty Plummer of Denton.
