Junior Hampton

Charlie (Junior) Hampton, age 67 of South Main St., Denton, NC died Saturday, August 19 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Hampton was born February 25, 1939 in Tazewell County, Virginia to Charlie Hampton and Dorothy Hoops Hampton. He was a self employed house painter. He is survived by his former wife, Dixie Lee Anderson Hampton of Denton, a son, Charles Hampton of Denton, a daughter, Erika Pennington of Denton, a brother, Jimmy Hampton of Baptist Vallley, Va., sisters Barbara Belcher and Judy Belcher both of Falls Mills, Va., Mary Baker of Rocky Gap, Va., Carol Rose and Ruth Nelson both of Bluefiled, W. VA., and Joann Moore of Princeton, W. VA. He has 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
