Julie Marie Broughton

Julie Marie Hall Broughton, 61, of S. Main St., Bladenboro, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after an extended illness. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Flint Hill Christian Church Cemetery with Littlefield Middle School Principal Kendall Hamilton officiating. Born in Norfolk VA on July 4, 1961, she was the daughter of John Farley Hall, Jr. and Phyllis Doreen Hall. She was a retired 7th grade English teacher from Littlefield Middle School in Robeson County. She had graduated from Pembroke College. She was preceded in death by her father in 2015. Julie is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Broughton of the home; sons, Robert James Broughton of Charlotte and Alex Wayne Broughton of Hickory; daughter, Alexis Marie Broughton of Hickory; her mother, Phyllis D. Hall of Salisbury; brother, John Hall (Beth) of Mt. Gilead; sisters, Donna Gordon (Kirk) of Wilmington and Mary Williams (Rick) of Salisbury; 2 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 15, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Briggs Funeral Home in Candor. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
