Julia Haynie Bortree

Mrs. Julia “Judy” Strickland Haynie Bortree, 70, of S. Snider St. Denton and formerly of Willow Spring, NC passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at her residence. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Timmons officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Haynie was born July 21, 1946 in Columbus County, NC to Jefferson “Jeff” Strickland and Derotha Hayes Strickland. She attended The Pentecostals of Denton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Don Haynie and by a brother Elbert Strickland. Surviving are husband, Randy Bortree of the home; son, Johnny Palmer of Lexington; daughter, Shannon Easter of Ft. Myers, FL; 3 grandchildren, Cody Easter, Tad Palmer, and Alicia Lones; 1 great-grandchild, Destiny Lones; brothers, Gary and Roland Strickland of Denton; sister, EthelLynn Nobles of Lexington.
