Joyce Garner Surratt

Rebecca Joyce Garner Surratt, 80, of Cross Road Retirement Community, died Thursday, June 5, 2025.  Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Church, with Pastor Shaun Garner officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Sunday prior to the service at the church.

Born in Davidson County on June 30, 1944, she was the daughter of John Edison and Clara Arnold Garner.  She attended Denton High School and had worked at Klopman Mills.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Douglas Surratt; 3 brothers, Ronald, Wayne and Darrell Garner; and a sister, Linda Stubbs.

Joyce is survived by a son, Chris Surratt of Lexington; a sister, Kathy Brown of Denton; 3 brothers, Lawrence Garner of Franklinville, Kenneth Garner of Greensboro, and Tommy Garner of Freeport TX.
