Mrs. Joyce Poplin McGee age 64, of Rocky Cove Lane, Denton died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at WFU Lexington Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, September 18 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Pastor Gary Posey. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McGee was born December 13, 1949 in Union County to the late William Glenn Poplin and Bertha Cleona Ledbetter Poplin. She was a loving, devoted mother and homemaker. In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by a brothers, Hoyle Poplin and Ted Poplin; sisters, Evelyn Helms and Judy Rochester. Survivors include, her loving husband of 39 years Willie E. “Dub” McGee, Jr. of the home; sons, Jerry Deaton and Edward McGee; daughters, Shannon Cagle, Gail McVerry, Paula Sizemore, and Julie McGee Sharpe; brother, Boyce Poplin; sisters, Shirley Bradshaw and Betty Smith; and 7 grandchildren.
