Mrs. Joy Gail Morris Pope, age 67 of Cedar Branch Road, Denton, NC died Thursday, December 17 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 20 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Freddie Moretz. Burial will follow at Floyd Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Pope was born May 26, 1942 in Davidson County to William Lee Morris and Leona Bratley Morris. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband E. J. Pope of the home; a sister Mrs. Margaret Floyd of Lexington and by nephews, Michael Floyd, Mark Floyd and Terry Floyd. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home.
