Josephine “Jo” Hill Covington, 89, of W. First St., Denton died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Thomasville Medical Center after a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Aaron Miller, Nathaniel Miller, and Andrew Miller. Interment will follow in the Denton Town Cemetery. Mrs. Covington was born June 20, 1921 in Randolph County to Lineberry Hill and Mary Ann LuZettie Russell Hill. She worked at Thorton Hosiery as a Knitter an later at Mountain Vista Health Park and was of the Methodist Faith. Preceding her in death was her husband, Lenn Richard Covington on February 10, 1979, son Richard Lineberry Covington on May 14, 2000 and also by brothers Colon James Hill and Ronald T. Hill. Survivors include, daughters; Jo Lynn Norris of New London and Pamela Miller of Denton, son; Robin Darrell Covington of Denton, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of Pamela Miller 90 Knollwood Dr. Denton.
