Josephine Lewis Britt, 85, of Candor, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehab in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Candor Cemetery. Mrs. Britt was born April 5, 1931 in Moore County, the daughter of Tracy A. and Grace Wilson Lewis. She was a beautician, the owner/operator of Jo’s Beauty Shop in Candor, and an avid bingo player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Britt in 1985, a brother, Albert Lewis, Jr. and a sister, Alice Winfree. She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Synowiez (Peter) of Whispering Pines, Pam Carter (Tommy) of Jackson Springs; 2 sons, Charles Arnold Britt (Susan) of Reidsville and Richard Britt (Karen) of Candor; 2 sisters, Shirley Garner (Lewis) of Vass and Doris Wilson of Aberdeen; brother, Charles Lewis of Aberdeen; 14 Grandchildren; 23 Great-grandchildren.
