Jonah Hartsoe

Mr. Jonah Wade Hartsoe, 91, formerly of Eastside Dr., Denton passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Thomasville Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, March 28 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Smith and Rev. Tammy Talbert officiating. Interment with military honors will be held 3:00 pm Thursday at Eastview Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Ronnie and Belinda Covington.

Jonah was born April 7, 1927 in Catawba County to Roy Poovey Hartsoe and Bertha Watts Hartsoe. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Denton Masonic Lodge #404 for over 50 years. He retired as a supervisor with Burlington Industries. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gurley Hartsoe and sister, Pansey Mae Hartsoe Haynes.

He is survived by Daughter, Belinda Hartsoe Covington and husband Ronnie of Denton; 2 grandchildren, Brandi Covington Franks and husband Adam of Concord and Heather Covington and fiancé Zach Livengood of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Addison Franks and Carson Jonah Franks.
