  Mrs. Johnnie Overstreet Sigmon, age 83 of Forest Park Drive, Denton, NC died Tuesday, June 25 at Mountain Vista Health Park. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Monday July 1 at Central United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Richard Blount, Rev. Benny Clodfelter and Pastor Alms. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends from 2:00 until 3:30 PM Monday, July 1 at Central United Methodist Church and at other times will be at the residence of the son Bill on Old Camp Road, Denton. Mrs. Sigmon was born March 24, 1936 in Catawba County to Edward Larson Overstreet and Blanche Hardin Overstreet. She was a retired school teacher in the Davidson County School system having taught at Denton Elementary School her entire career. She was a graduate of Pfeiffer College and held a Masters degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a former member of the NCAE. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother Edward Overstreet and a sister Dot Roseman. She is survived by her husband William Craig Sigmon of the home; a son, Bill Sigmon and wife Debbie of Denton; daughters, Beth Ligon and husband Roger of Denton, Marsha Zeitany and husband David Gaither of Wallburg; mother-in-law, Edith Sigmon of Denton; grandchildren, Joseph Ligon and wife Cameron, Zach Ligon and wife Leslie, Will Sigmon and wife Jana, Alex Grimm and husband Peter, Alana Zeitany, Madison Sigmon, Hunter Sigmon and Larsen Sigmon; great grandchildren, Harper, Hollis, Flynn and Liam. The family would like to thank cargivers, Judy Carter, Melanie Loflin, Shannon Brown, Sharon Louya, Ann Louya, Katherine Louya and Juana Eads. They are grateful for the love and care given by the staff of Mountain Vista Health Park.
