John Wayne Thompson

John Wayne Thompson, 64, of Putnam North Carolina passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late Mary Francis Trogdon and John Franklin Thompson. He is also preceded in death by his step-father Authur Trogdon, his sister, Faye Lane and younger brothers Kenny Thompson and Gary Thompson. John is survived by his daughter Diana, grandchildren, brothers Danny Ray and Randy Thompson (Susan), sister Connie Thompson, Fiance’ Peggy Snelling and her children and grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. John enjoyed watching racing and football. He cheered for his favorite team the NY Jets. Anytime spent with his favorite little boy “Hot Rod” was the best time. They both had the most fun shooting bb guns together. As his wishes, John will be cremated. Briggs Funeral Services in Candor is assisting the family.
