John A. Thomas, Jr.

John A. Thomas, Jr. age 91, of Fox Forrest Ln. Hoffman died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehab. A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 4 at Pinelawn Memorial Gardens in Southern Pines conducted by Rev. Pat Sykes and Rev. Eric Joyce. The family will see friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Candor Funeral Home in Candor and other times at the residence. Mr. Thomas was born November 17, 1919 in Moore County to John A. Thomas, Sr. and Annalisa Ellen Burroughs. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and was a Farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Maie Kern Thomas and by his son, John A. Thomas, III and by a daughter, Martha Thomas. Survivors include, daughters; Deborah Kern Thomas of Rockingham and Betsy Christine Galliher of Cary and 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
