John Daniel Freeman

John Daniel Freeman, 73, of E. Warehouse St, Candor, died Wednesday Morning at his residence.  Graveside Service will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 13, 2017 at Candor Cemetery, with Rev. Matthew Baker officiating.   Born in Montgomery County on March 30, 1944, he was the son of Ben Lewis and Betty Gertrude Lamonds Freeman.  He was a longtime resident and the owner of hosiery mills in Candor.   He is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon Freeman Thompson of Candor and Susan Freeman Smith of Biscoe; brother, Glenn Lee Freeman of Mt. Gilead; sister, Daphne Thompson of Troy; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Henley, Chelsea Allamadani, Chase Thompson; Holly Smith, and Michael Smith; 1 great-grandchild, Jax Allamadani.   The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Friday, prior to the service at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Sharon Thompson, Samarcand Rd., Biscoe.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society, 1150 Okeeweemee Rd., Troy NC  27371.   Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
