John Wayne Adams

Mr. John Wayne Adams, 87, of Garner Rd., Denton passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, Feb. 7 at Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Sandy Young officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born in Davidson County on May 7, 1932 to Scovil Adams and Zelma Gallimore Adams. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and was an Electrician. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Theran and Kenneth Adams; sisters, Caroleta Hutchins, Agnes Rider, Vanetta Harper; grandson, Christopher Wayne Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Dennis Adams of the home; sons, Gerald Wayne Adams, Eddie Carl Adams both of Denton, and Sammy Adams of Thomasville; sister, Peggy Buie of Denton; 3 grandchildren, Chad Adams, Sammie Adams Holt, and Corey Wayne Adams; 3 great-grandchildren, Zach Dylan Holt, Cody Wayne Adams, and Olivia Adams.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Garner Rd.
