Joann Mallory Absher

Denton- Mrs. Joann Mallory Absher, 72, of Hwy 8, Denton, died Friday, March 9, 2007 at Randolph Memorial Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 12, 2007 at Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Ball and Elder Scott Childers officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. A native of Tazewell County, Virginia, Mrs. Absher was born August 11, 1934, the daughter of William Bill Mallory and Mary Agnes Simmons Mallory-Lawson. She was a member of Old Regular Primitive Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Absher. She was a caterer with Four C's catering. Mrs. Absher is survived by 3 sons, Sidney Edward Absher, Scott Absher and Timothy Absher, all of Denton; 1 daughter, Mary Timmons of Denton; a brother, Bill Mallory of Alabama; a sister, Earlene Grant of Virginia; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Hwy 8.
