Jimmy Surratt

Mr. Jimmy Lee Surratt, 80, of Surratt Dr., Denton passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022 at Lexington Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, Jan. 19 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Claudie Harrison.

Mr. Surratt was born Jan. 30, 1941 in Davidson County to the late, Millard E. Surratt and late, Avis Gallimore Surratt. Jimmy was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was employed in law enforcement for many years serving as a police officer, Chief of Police of Denton, a Davidson County Sheriff’s Deputy and he also had been a paramedic with Davidson County Emergency Services.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Andrews Surratt of the home; sons, Tim Surratt (Tammy) of Lexington, Ronnie Surratt (Anita) of Denton, and Donnie Shaw (Deanna) of Denton; daughter, Stephanie Parrish (Stephen) of Denton; brothers, Dempsey Surratt (Toni) of Mt. Gilead and Gilmer Surratt (Chris) of Denton; 9 grandchildren, Kacy, Jordan (Hannah), Lauren, Aaron, Jonathon, Mercedes, Hunter, Hunter, and Jake; 4 great-grandchildren, Beecher, Brighton, Beau, and Weston.

Memorials can be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
