Jimmy Wayne Martin

Jimmy Wayne Martin, 54 of North Main Street, Denton died Saturday as a result of injuries from a motorcycle accident. Mr. Martin was born March 8, 1953 in Davidson County to Brack Gilbert Martin and Wanda Sullivan Martin. He was a 1972 graduate of Denton High School and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was employed by Handi Stop Jewelry and enjoyed the outdoors, spending time on High Rock Lake, and riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Timothy Martin. Surviving are his wife Lisa Miller Martin; his son, Lucas Martin of High Point; his daughter, Kaci Martin of Lexington; his mother, Wanda Martin of Denton; his brother, Gil Allen Martin and wife, Alice, of Denton; and numerous friends and family. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with Revs. Vern Peterson, Chris Smith, and Gerald Miller officating. The family will recieve friends from 6:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293.
