Mrs. Jewell Garner Futrell Beaman, age 84 of Dairy road, Troy, NC died Wednesday, June 22 at Autmun Care of Biscoe. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 25 at Ophir United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Casey Harris. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Briggs Funeral Home in Troy and other times will be at the residence on Dairy Road. Mrs. Beaman was born December 5, 1926 in Davidson County to Lowe Garner and Mazie Peacock Garner. She was a homemaker and had owned and operated Village Vogue Dress Shop in Biscoe. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was first married to R. Arnold Futrell who died in May, 1985. She later married John Riley Beaman, Sr who died in January, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a son James Timothy Futrell and a brother Clinton Garner. Mrs. Beaman is survived by sons, Paul L. Futrell and wife Mary of Pinehurst, and Lex Futrell of Wilmington; daughters, Connie F. Beaman and husband John R.. Jr and Pixie B. Skipper and husband Bill all of Troy. Sisters, Maxine Loflin and husband Clarence of Denton, Barbara Tesh of Concord and Ann Jones of Summerville, SC.; 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
