Jesse Lanier

  Mr. Jesse Franklin Lanier, age 90 of Surratt Road, Denton, NC died Friday, April 25 at Thomasville Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 29 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Claudie Harrison. Burial with Military Honors will be at MountainView Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Mr. Lanier was born October 11, 1923 in Davidson County to Noah Archie Lanier and Lizzie Bea Russell Lanier. He was a farmer and a retired supervisor with Terrell Brothers Manufacturing Company. He was a World War II veteran of the U S Army and a lifelong member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Vernelle Ball Lanier of the home; a son Douglas Lanier of Denton; a daughter Lu Ann Lanier Gallimore and husband Randy of Denton; a granddaughter Jessica Skeen and husband Nathan and a great grandson Evan Skeen.
