Jerry Allen Pegg

Jerry Allen Pegg, 76, of New London, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Saturday, June 24th 2017. A former native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Ruth Pegg. Jerry graduated from Bessemer High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. An avid hunter, he enjoyed outdoor life and loved his two dogs, Bo and Duke. He was preceded in death by his lifelong friend Larry Fee, who he thought of more like a brother. Jerry is survived by his two daughters, Sherry Gordon, and husband Hugh, of McLeansville, North Carolina and Debra Dumont, and husband Christian, of Powhatan, Virginia. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Jared and Ian Gordon and Madeline and Christopher Dumont. A sister, Gayla Eldridge, a former spouse Barbara Pegg, and close friends the Fee and Yarbrough families. A private memorial service will be held Saturday to honor the life that he enjoyed. A military burial will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions can be sent to Chandler’s Grove United Methodist Church, who assisted the family during this time. Arrangements are by Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
