Jerry Wesley Blake, 76, of Jackson Springs, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at FirstHealth Hospice House. Mr. Blake was born April 22, 1940 in Richmond County, a son of the late Fred Lee and Nellie Jane King Blake. He was a member of New Hope Tabernacle and had been employed as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Glover Blake and brothers, Harvey and Lee Blake. Surviving are his wife, Annette Blake of the home; his children, Ricky Wesley Blake of Jackson Springs, Theresa Fredrick Blake of West End, Jeremy Keith Blake of Beulaville, Anthony Wesley Blake of Seagrove, Kenny Andrew Blake of Norfolk, VA, Pamela Elizabeth McIntosh of Vass, Sharon Louise Blake of Eagle Springs, Jennifer Kelly Thomas of West End; 29 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Ray Blake of Rockingham and sister Wanda Hawkins of Troy. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Revs. Jon Scarboro, Dennis Patterson and Eric Joyce officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Candor Funeral Home and at other times at Sharon’s, 136 Poor Boys Lane, Eagle Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
