Jerry James Baldwin 62, of Wall Rd., in the Southmont Community of Lexington died Thursday, March 9, 2006 at his residence after a 1 year illness. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Floyd Baptist Church. Conducted by the Rev. Fred Miller, Rev. Michael Lee, and Rev. Benn Fleming. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Baldwin was born Oct. 9, 1943 in Guilford County to Millard and Frances Cleveland Baldwin. He was a carpenter and until his illness was metal saw operator with Metal Creations of High Point. He was member of Floyd Baptist Church and had served as an assistant with the Boy Scouts. He was an avid hunter and fisher and was a devoted son and grandfather. Survivors include, his wife Lila Lusk Baldwin of the home, Daughters, Julie S. Welch and husband Jeff, and Kimberly Hodgson all of Southmont, Mother Frances Baldwin of Franklinville, brothers, Jackie Baldwin and wife Shelia of Franklinville, Earl Baldwin, Ronnie Baldwin and wife Amy all of Asheboro, grandson, Zachary Welch, He was a uncle to Renee, Jimmy, Kevin, Ben, Cora, Rachel, Adam, Alisa, Taylor Lynn, Andrew, Jerry, Brittany, Jacob, Eric, Karry, Matthew, Anna, Janice, Katrina, and John Jr. The family will see friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton, Other times at the home on Wall Rd.
