Jerrie Lomax

Mrs. Geraldine “Jerrie” Johnson Lomax, age 97, formerly of Garner St., Denton, NC passed away December 21, 2020 at The Gardens of Taylor Glen in Concord.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 26 at Denton Town Cemetery conducted by Rev. Benny Clodfelter.  The family asks that you please wear masks and observe social distancing.

Mrs. Lomax will lie in state at Briggs Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday.

Mrs. Lomax was born February 21, 1923 in Davidson County to Herman Edwin Johnson and Gertrude Hill Johnson.  She was a homemaker and a member of Central United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women and numerous church committees.  Before moving to Denton she lived in Charlotte and attended Alexander Graham Junior High and Central High School. She was married for 69 years to John Haven Lomax, Jr .who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bill Johnson, a sister Hilda Cranford and a son-in-law Jerry Everhart.

She is survived by a daughter Marcia L Everhart of Concord; a son, John “Johnny” H Lomax, III and wife Cindy of Cornelius; grandchildren Doug Everhart and wife Amy, Cindy Conner and husband Michael, Stephanie Lomax, Haven Sofia and husband Joe, Brad Lomax and wife Julie; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
