Sylvia Jean Clay Cooper, 81, of Crystal Bay Dr. Denton, NC passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Mountain Vista Health Park.

Jean was born in Nash County, NC on March 19, 1940 to Ferdle Elmo Clay and Geraldine Eleanor Clay. Growing up Jean was a member of Speights Chapel United Methodist Church in Whitakers, NC. For many years Jean worked for Nash Garment Company as a Inspector. In addition to her parents Jean was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Romeo Cooper.

She is survived by a brother, Wayne Clay and wife Rebecca of Tarboro; a sister, Millie Inscoe and husband Mike of Denton; nieces, Amanda Inscoe and Christy Batts (Brian); nephews, Eric Clay and Michael Inscoe (Lorrie); great-nieces, Hannah Clay, Sarah Grace Clay, and Ryann Inscoe; great-nephews, Parker Batts and Cade Batts.

The family will receive friends at the home of Millie Inscoe on Crystal Bay Dr., Denton.
