Janie Lynn Hedrick, a cherished resident of Denton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 25, 2025. She was 69 years old. Born on February 20, 1956, in Davidson County, she was the beloved daughter of Henry Pullum and Willow Mae Billings Pullum.
Janie dedicated her career to her passion as a seamstress, a skill she embraced with creativity and flair. Throughout her life, she found joy in a variety of hobbies, particularly fishing and spending time at the beach. Her artistic spirit shone brightly in her craftwork, where she delightfully transformed light bulbs into enchanting Christmas ornaments and creatively turned crab shells into whimsical representations of the Grinch.
Her family remembers her not only for her talents but also for the generous love she shared. Janie is survived by her daughter, Marcella Bennett, and her other daughter, Mae Hayman, who is engaged to James Sullivan. She also leaves behind her brothers, Artley Pullum and Rodney Pullum. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Dustin Tyler Billings, Lori Nicole Fender, Alexia Mae Wright, and Marcie Lynn Burrow, as well as her great-grandchildren, Emma Kate Kepley and Evan James Blevins.
Janie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger Lee Hedrick, her brothers Russell Pullum and Dale Pullum, her sister Gale Pullum Gunter, and her parents, Henry and Willow Mae Pullum.
In her passing, Janie leaves a profound void in the hearts of many. Her vibrant spirit and creative ingenuity will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. She touched lives with her warmth, her crafts, and her unyielding love for her family.
