Mary Jane Fagg Haltom

Mary Jane Fagg Haltom, affectionately known as Jane, passed away on September 21, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House. She was born on March 28, 1935, in Randolph County, NC. Jane left this world on a significant day, marking the birthday of her late son, Mark Haltom, creating a poignant connection in her passing.

Jane held deep roots in her community, having attended Chapel Hill Methodist Church. She was celebrated for her passion for cooking and gardening, often delighting family and friends with her culinary creations and beautiful arrangements of fresh cut flowers. A devoted Elvis fan, Jane took pride in sharing with others that they were born in the same year, which became a charming detail of her personality. However, above all her interests, Jane's most profound legacy was her unwavering love for her family.

She is survived by her cherished family members, including her sons G. Raeford Haltom, George Haltom, and Jeffery Haltom (Elsie), all of Denton; daughters Sheila Haltom of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Angie Dobbins (Mark) of Lexington. Jane is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Yvonne Martin (Will) of Asheboro and Deborah Kay West of Randleman. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren—Glenn Haltom III (Amber), Laura Demuyakor (Adam), Lindsey Abrams (Connor), Jacob Dobbins (Brittany), Peyton Haltom, Mark Haltom (Kori), Brittney Haltom, David Haltom, Chris Haltom, and Jeffery Haltom—and her eight great-grandchildren: Glenn Haltom IV, Katelyn Haltom, James Demuyakor, Eli Kinley, Eliot Kinley, Jace Orrell, Bodey Haltom, and Brynley Haltom.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Alex Fagg and Naomi Jane Cook Fagg, her husband Glenn Raeford Haltom, her son Mark Haltom, brothers Ray Fagg and Larry Alexander, and sister Fay Morris.

A visitation will be held on September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Don Jarrell, both taking place at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton, NC. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Jane's family and friends are invited to come and celebrate her remarkable life and the cherished memories they shared. A luncheon will follow at the family home on Surratt Road.
