Jane Coffey

Mrs. Jane Surratt Coffey, age 76 of Brian Center, Lexington, NC and formerly of Bombay Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, Sept. 5 at Brian Center. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Dr. Jerry Surratt. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at Mountain View Memorial Gardens conducted By Dr. Vern Peterson. Mrs. Coffey was born October 14, 1932 in Forsyth County to Shelton M. Surratt and Lillie Henderson Surratt. She graduated from Richmond Professional Institute and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a retired school teacher having taught in the Guilford County School System and the Jacksonville Florida School System. She is survived by brothers, Lloyd Surratt and wife Laura of Lexington and Ned Surratt and wife B. J. and son Alan of Abingdon, Maryland. She is also survived by nieces Mary Lynn Beck and husband Keith; Beth Green and husband Jimmy; and Julie Barlow and husband and husband David all of Lexington and by a great nephew Josh Green and wife Tonya; by great nieces Lauren Beck, Sara Beck, Taylor Barlow and Casey Barlow. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
