Jane Branson

Mrs. Jane Harris Branson, age 70 of Samarcand Road, Eagle Springs NC died Monday, June 7 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Jane was born June 19, 1939 in Plymouth, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar Hunter Harris and Iva McAulay Harris, and by brothers Edgar Hunter Harris, Jr and William McAulay Harris. She grew up in the Methodist Home in Winston-Salem until she was 14. She then returned to Plymouth to live with her father. Jane graduated from East Carolina University with a BA degree in June, 1963. She began her career at Samarkand Manor Correction School in Eagle Springs as a social worker and continued until she had 30 years service retiring in June, 1994. She enjoyed cooking and canning and after retirement she was a homemaker and enjoyed sending cards to her friends on special occasions. She was a friend to everyone and was a devoted and loving wife and mother to her special sons and enjoyed visiting when ever possible. She married Paul R. Branson in 1968 who survives of the home. She is also survived by sons Ray Harris Branson and wife of Betsy of Gallup, NM, Franklin Paul Branson and wife Mamie of Trinity and sister-in-law Mildred Sellers Harris of Sunset Beach. The family will see friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church.
