James Lee “Smiley” Wright, 52, of Dennis St., died Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Troy. Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Southside Cemetery in Troy, with Rev. Richard Lynthacum officiating. Born in Montgomery County on April 28, 1964, he was the son of Joseph and Annie Thompson Wright. He was a logger and was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Elizabeth Wright and Novella Wooley. He is survived by 2 sons, Daniel Wright of Mt. Gilead and Chris Wright of Denton; daughter, Gabrielle Childers; his partner, Linda Adelwerth; 2 brothers, Joseph Wright of Denton and William Wright of Troy; 2 sisters, Leslie Wright of Troy and Joanna White of Albemarle; 7 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Troy.
