Mr. James (Jim) Edwin Tumlin, age 75, of Potters Landing, Denton, NC died suddenly onThursday, March 18 in Lula, Georgia. Funeral service for Mr. Tumlin will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 21 at Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Tom McLean, Rev. Flynn Richardson and Rev. Mike Motley officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mr. Tumlin was born April 24, 1934 in Hall County, Georgia to Herschel Edwin Tumlin and Willie Mae Smallwood Tumlin. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. He was the founder of Trico Pools, Inc. and Trico Home Improvers, Inc. in Greensboro, NC. He was also a licensed real estate broker. Mr. Tumlin is survived by his wife of 55 years, LaVerne Eleanor Loggins Tumlin of the home, one son, Wayne Edwin Tumlin and wife Cheryl of Greensboro, two daughters, Wanda Tumlin Granberry and husband Michael of Houston, Texas and Linda Tumlin Essick and husband Joe of Concord. He is also survived by brothers, Ronald Tumlin and wife Daphne of Houston, Texas, Roger Tumlin and wife Sherry of Kernersville and Hayward Tumlin of Virginia, one sister, Bobbie Sue Smith of Greensboro and six grandchildren, Matthew Granberry, Marcus Granberry, Laura Essick, Bradley Essick, Alexandra Tumlin and Jacob Tumlin.
