Tim Privett

James Timothy Privett, 77, of S. Main Street, Candor, died Friday, August 14, 2026 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in West End. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wedensday, August 19, 2026 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he was a longtime member, with Pastor Michael Free officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in the Candor Cemetery.

Born in Moore County on October 29, 1948, he was the son of Reid Clifford and Margaret McCaskill Privett. He was the owner/operator of Tim Privett Heating and Air Conditioning in Candor for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the US Army Infantry Division, seeing combat in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded a Purple Heart along with other military commendations for his service to his country. He also served on the First Bank local advisory for Montgomery County and was a commissioner for the Town of Candor for 12 years.

Tim was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford and Bobby Privett, and a sister, Marie Meacham.

Tim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Faye Lowder Privett; brother, Johnson Privett (Judy) of Springfield TN; sister Elaine Privette of Candor; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 PM prior to the service Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
