James "Jimmy" Matthew Grubb

James "Jimmy" Matthew Grubb, 84, of Lexington, NC passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Rowan County.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Sep. 19, 2026, at Hughes Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow n the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service starting.

Mr. Grubb was born on April 8, 1942, in Davidson County the son of Matthew Steven Grubb and Millie Arlene Cody Grubb. He was a member of Hughes Grove Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. Mr. Grubb had worked as a cloth cutter with Burtons until its closure and later at Thayer Coggin Inc. until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl Lee Grubb.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Leonard Grubb; son, Steve Grubb and his wife Deanna; daughter, Sandra Grubb Loflin and her husband Tony; sister, Mary Louise Williams; grandchildren, Brantly Grubb and his wife Sarah, Lindsey Grubb, Casey Raino and her husband Thomas, Tony Loflin, Jr. and his wife Jenny; great-grandchildren, Reba Raino, Lilly Loflin, and Landon Loflin.
