James "Jim" T. Fender

July 26, 1939 — September 12, 2022

Mr. James “Jim” Thomas Fender, Sr., 83, of Bill Lohr Rd,, Lexington, NC passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, Sep. 14, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton with Rev. Ronnie Pinyan.

Mr. Fender was born July 26, 1939, in Yancey County to Horace Fender and Martha Edward Fender. Jim was a long-distance truck driver for many years and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Faye Williams Fender.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Duty Fender of the home; sons, James Fender, Jr (Jennifer) of Winston Salem and John Fender (Jill) of Salisbury; daughter, Jessica Statz (Sam) of Falls Church, VA; brother, Darrell Fender of Burnsville; sisters, Irene Hoyle of TN, Kathy Holt of Thomasville, Eloise Hauser of Franklinville, and Geraldine Ramsey of Burnsville, 2 grandchildren, Christina Faye Fender and Anna Faye Statz
