Mr. James Riley Hopkins, 85, of Denton died Tuesday, June 28, at High Point Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Pastor Mark Hopkins. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Hopkins was born June 8, 1937, in Randolph County to Riley A. Hopkins and Minnie Taylor Hopkins. He was of the Baptist faith and had worked in the furniture industry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Dock Hopkins and by his sisters, Alene Hayes, Othelia Harris, Jenna Mae Kirk, and Betty Russell.

He is survived by son, James Hopkins and wife Sabrina of Roanoke, VA; daughter Gina Giles and husband Marvin of Denton; 7 grandchildren, Mark, Joshua, Stephanie, Ashley, Kandace, Dustin, and Rebecca; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
