James Maynard Edwards

James Maynard Edwards, 83, of Floyd Church Rd., Lexington passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Atrium Health High Point Regional Hospital. Born on January 19, 1942, in Wise County, VA he was the son of the late Edward Garland Edwards and Sallie Catherine Hicks Edwards 

A funeral service for Mr. Edwards will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, Dec. 22, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Floyd Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Edwards was a self employed logger and was well known for his knowledge of lawn mower repair having operated Edwards Lawn mower repair for many years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Bowers Edwards; a son, David Young; his siblings, John Edwards, Emmitt Edwards, Wilburn Edwards, Beulah Edwards Nunn, Betty McCarn, Virginia Duty, and Bernice Russell.

left to cherish his memory is his son, Lee Edwards and his wife Stephanie, and his sister, Shirley Fritts; and his 2 grandsons, Travis Edwards and his wife Brittani, and Tyler Edwards and his wife Shelby; and a great-grandson Michael Edwards.
