Mr. James “Jim” Clyde Crook (The Tire Man), 70, of Loflin Rd. Denton passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his residence.
A celebration of life service will be held 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 11 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Mr. Danny Soles presiding.
Mr. Crook was born July 6, 1947 in Davidson County to Ray Crook and Lois Bernice Steed Crook. He was of the Baptist Faith and veteran of the United States Air Force. “Jim” had worked as a Grading Superintendent and was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Walters Crook of the home; daughters, Sheri Whitman (Toby) of Thomasville, Tracie Deitz and Melissa Crook both of Denton; brother, Steve Odom of Lexington; 11 grandchildren, Justin Steed (Shasta), Ashley McKinney (Shawn), Mitchell Whitman, Toby Whitman, Jr, Brandi Dietz, Dalton Dietz (Brianna), Kristen Roach (Jamon), Kinsie Crook, Jacob Crook, Kaitlin Crook, and Savannah Hill; 9 great-grandchildren; and also by his beloved dog, Chico.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
