James O. Camp Jr., of Star, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at his home. The family will hold a memorial service Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Seagrove, NC, on Burney Rd. at 3 p.m. Mr. Camp was retired from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Postal Service. A native of Gadsden Alabama, he was born February 11, 1925. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Amaryllis Nichols Camp. He was the son of James and Velma Camp; the brother of Shirley, Polly, and Joanne; father to Sharon Camp Spencer (husband Randall), Jimmy Camp (wife Marda), Terry Camp (wife Lisa), Randy Camp (wife Penny), Jane Camp Carroll (husband Eric); grandfather to eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
