James Curtis Bryant, Sr.

James Curtis Bryant, Sr. of Denton, died Friday June 13, 2008 at his residence. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 17 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton. Mr. Bryant was born June 8, 1936 in Haywood County to John Clingman Bryant and Annie Keener Bryant. He retired from Burlington Industries. He was preceded in death by one grandson James Curtis Bryant, III. Survivors include wife Shirley Bryant of the home; two sons James Curtis Bryant, Jr. and wife Janie of Salisbury; David Allen Bryant and wife Teesha of Denton; one daughter Carolyn Bryant of Salisbury; brother Carl Bryant of Candler; sister Hazel Edwards of Asheville; five grandchildren Ashley Hoffner and husband Mark, Amanda Gray and husband Ricky, Abel Bryant and fiance’ Amanda Privette, John Bryant, and Matthew Bryant; and one nephew George Bryant and wife Barbara. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donors choice.
