James Barr

James Elwood Barr, age 79, of Lookabill Road Denton, NC died Sunday December 3, 2023 at his residence.

A Service will be held on Saturday, January 13th at the Southern Theater and Event Center at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Scott Davis.

Mr. Barr was born August 6, 1944 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to John Barr and Thelma Martin Barr.  He was an Air Force veteran.  Mr. Barr was with the American Legion Post 76 of Albemarle and Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 207 in Midway. Mr. Barr was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Jackson Hill.  He was a technical writer with AMP/TYCO.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Selina “Lou” Gilfert Barr; sons, Robert Barr of Denton, Stephen Barr of Midland and David Barr (Ruth) of Mobile, AL;  sisters, Cindy Barr Abrams and Joyce Barr Michael; grandchildren, Christain Barr and Connor Barr; great-grandchild, Lucas David Barr.
