Jacqueline Christine "Chrissy" Hedrick, 48, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Forsyth County, North Carolina. Born on April 8, 1978, in Davidson County, North Carolina, Chrissy touched the lives of all who knew her.

Chrissy was the devoted wife of Chuck Holt, who stood by her side throughout life’s joys and challenges. She was the loving mother to Steven Bray and his fiancée Ashley Bean, and to Cameron Hale, cherishing each moment she spent supporting her family. Family was at the heart of everything for Chrissy.

She was the cherished daughter of Barbara Surratt Hogan and Larry Hedrick, and the stepdaughter of Phil Hogan. As a beloved sister, Chrissy shared a special bond with her brother, Patrick Hogan. She was also a treasured granddaughter to Ava Lea Surratt, and is mourned alongside her aunts, Leann Hamilton and her husband Bobby, Suzanne Surratt, and by her mother-in-law, Dee Holt.

Chrissy was preceded in death by her grandfather, Othell Surratt.

A proud graduate of South Davidson High School, Class of 1997, Chrissy began her career as a veterinarian technician, dedicating herself to the care of animals with the same understanding and empathy she extended to people. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to create her own pet grooming business, a testament to her creativity, determination, and lifelong love of animals.

Chrissy also served her community for many years by driving a school bus for South Davidson area students. Her gentle presence and genuine interest in the lives of those she encountered left lasting impressions.

Those who knew Chrissy will remember her as a true lover of all animals. She found immense joy in travel, especially during family trips to Disney World and Dollywood, savoring each adventure and making treasured memories along the way. Chrissy’s adventurous spirit was evident in her love for taking trips in her Mini Cooper, and her fondness for stopping at her favorite convenience store, Buc-ee's, where she delighted in collecting cups—a simple joy that brought her much happiness.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Summerville Baptist Church where Chrissy was a member and was baptized. The service will be led by Rev. Thomas Frizzell and Rev. Peter McGuire. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Immediately following the interment, the family will be going to the fellowship hut at Central United Methodist Church for a reception and to greet friends.

Chrissy’s vibrant personality, love for her family, and devotion to her work will leave a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, her absence felt most keenly by those whose lives she shaped through her boundless generosity and love.

The family, friends, and everyone touched by Chrissy’s life now mourn her passing even as they celebrate the time they had with her. Her compassion, dedication, and joyful spirit will live on in their hearts always.
