Jacob Bean

Mr. Jacob Alexander Bean age 93, of Denton Rd., Denton passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hospice of the Piedmont. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Summerville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Flynn Richardson and Rev. Claudie Harrison. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Bean was born July 12, 1922 in Davidson County to Robin and Jessie Eller Bean. Until his death Jacob was the oldest living member of Summerville Baptist Church. He was Veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. Mr. Bean was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Shaw Bean; brothers Johnny, William, Calvin, and Fred Bean; sisters, Lissie Bean and Kathleen Frye. Surviving are daughter, Wanda Harrison and husband Claudie of Denton; sister, Opal Shaw of Denton; 2 grandchildren, Amy Thompson (Ransom) and Adam Latham; 3 great grandchildren, Alaina and Ashton Thompson and Aleyah Latham; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 at Summerville Baptist Church prior to the service. Other times the family will be at the home of Wanda Harrison on Karen Dr., Denton.
