Mr. Jackie David Morris, age 65, of Florence, South Carolina died Wednesday, March 20 at his home. A funeral service for Mr. Morris will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 24 at Lineberry United Methodist Church with Rev. Kelly Creekmur officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites. Mr. Morris was born November 11, 1947 in Iredell County to Clarence David and Sara Sherrill Morris. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U. S. Air Force and had worked as an electrical engineer with Progress Energy. He graduated from Rock Springs High School in Denver, NC and N. C. State University. He was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Lake Norman. He was an avid sportsman, being active in the NRA and the Sumter Air Force Base Gun Club. He was an active supporter of the Wounded Warriors and the Republican Party. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Allen Morris. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Trexler Morris of the home, one son Sean Morris and wife Amy of Huntersville, two grandchildren, Jackson and Tucker and Aunt Pat Moore of Roanoke, VA.
