Irene Roberts

Mrs. Irene Huffman Roberts, age 69 of Garner Road, Denton, NC died Sunday, June 6 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 9 at Summerville Baptist Church with Preacher Clyde Akers and Rev. Tom McLean officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Roberts was born June 13, 1940 in Cabarrus County to James William Huffman and Annie Ruth Holloway Huffman. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and a retired supervisor with Burlington Industries Denton Plant. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by brothers, Herman Huffman, Carl Huffman, Jay Huffman, Everett Huffman, Allen Huffman and Glen Huffman and by sisters, Ruth (Lou) Morris and Gail Hill and by a grand daughter Amber Everhart. She is survived by her husband, Roy Roberts of the Home, daughters, Teresa Ann Everhart and Becky Renee Arthur and husband Vincent all of Denton; Brothers, J. R. Huffman, J. W. Huffman, Larry Wayne Huffman and Tommy Huffman all of Lexington; by sisters Gladys Brinkley of Welcome, Barbara Norman and Naomi Martin both of Lexington; grandchildren Megan Snider and Ashley Martin; and great grandchild Kaylee Snider. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
